Hello all, I was recently at Ohio bike week a few weeks back.My buddy and I were just walking around checking things out.We noticed a vendor installing LED kits on quite a few bikes....the one thing that really caught our eyeballs was, they were putting LEDs around the inside of the gauges! As the sun went away,i made sure to go back and get the full night-time effect...all i can say is WOW!! Beyond cool idea!! Of course, the bike that i saw had the blue color (my favorite). We had asked how much $$$ for the kit & install, are you ready for this? $280.00 for just the speaker pods in the fairing, another $300.00 or so for the gauges!! "Um,okay my buddy said...we will stop back by".Then the guy at the vendor tent went on to say,"we can do this while you wait" Im thinking approx 30-35 bucks for the LEDs and the wire,tape,etc....and the rest is, you guessed it,LABOR!I do plan on soon installing an amp, speakers in fairing, as well as lowers, but while im all "in there" i just have to put some LEDs to light up the gauges as well.Any ideas?? All ideas and help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks all!!
LED's AROUND the gauges? Or open up the gauges replacing the stock LED's with different colors? So it has the same illumination as stock but just in a different color?

Dew me, The set up my buddy and myself saw was in between the lens and the gauge face all the way around the gauge. We didnt see how it looked with the original illumination as well as the LEDs on at the same time, although i dont think it would have taken away the great glow those LEDs put out.It was really cool looking!!
Chills, I looked at pepboys last time i was there.I may go that route!

well i only did the LEDs on the inside-top of the speaker grills & its plenty bright for me at night. i put the amber LEDs in & the glow is nice. sorry dont have any pics of them yet though.
Chillls, How difficult of a job was it installing those LEDs? I am really considering doing this when i install my audio equipment as well.By the way, i plan on installing the same audio set-up that i just read(in the bottom of your signature) that you have in your bike...RF300.2,RF 6.5 3-ways in fairing, how does it sound? Any pros/cons about the amp or the speakers? What type of adapters/spacers did you have to use for the fairing speakers? Will most any type work? Thanks!
took a couple of pics for ya of the LEDs i put in.
i only put them on the tops of the speaker adapters so as not to blind me at night. i think they are 5" or 6" strips that i got from PEPBOYS.
