Default Thoughts?

Hey guys, need a little help. I have a 2012 SG and recently did the stage 1, se super tuner, vh dresser duals and monster ovals. Bike sounds ok but its still not what i want. Would going to the 4" rinehart slip ons be much different or pretty much the same? Guess i'm looking for a little louder and more rumble.

Thanks

I love my monster ovals for the very reason you dont like them...they sound good, better and deeper than stock, but they won't **** off your neighbors and you can still hear your stereo at cruise speeds. If you are looking for more then I would suggest you actually get to listen to the pipes before you buy your next set. MOs aren't cheap and Rineharts are even more $$, so this could get very expensive very fast unless you know what you want. Check out your local dealership, odds are someone will be around in relatively short order with a set of Rineharts you can listen to....plus you can listen to others as well. You may find something for less money that sounds better to you than the Rineharts.

Throw a set of SE 255 cams in there. You'll notice a bit more cadence. But forget trying to get the sound of an old 88 inch carb bike with drags. That ain't going to happen.

If you like the v h monster series, try listening to the monster rounds. The are a 4" slip on. Have good highway manners, but crack the throttle and they come life. Not lound like the twin slash or pro pipe series. Still have a nice deep tone. I love mine... Would buy again...

Remember you have to listen to them also. A bud had reins on his. I could not stand them. I had to drive his a couple of times, not to my liking.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm not real familiar with the CFR's and BUBs but I'll check em out. One thing I've learned is YouTube is not the ideal place to listen to pipes. Before I decide what to do I'll listen to different pipes in person.

Thanks again

Hang out at any establishment that has a lot of bike traffic. When you hear something you like the sound of pull in, ask the guy about it. I haven't met a guy yet that didn't like talking about his own bike. Especially if you compliment him about it. Ask him if he's made any other mods to his bike because, as Glidden said, cams will make a big difference in tone.

Look at the price difference between a cam upgrade and new pipes. For a few more bucks you can get a big torque increase as well as a better tone out of your existing pipes.

Well, or you can keep going and once youve got a good inventory of used pipes send me a PM and sell me one of em at a substantial discount......seriously tho your going to go broke unless you get some kind of a system. I found even if I hear a pair I like, unless my bike is setup exactly like the bike I heard them on they dont sound the same....
