does anyone out ther know of a way to fix the outer fairing attachment so the screw stays put ? of course iwant to be able to remove the fairing when needed. thanks
If its the holes stripped out Ive heard of shaving some ABS plastic pipe into a container and add some acetome, stir it together and you have ABS glue, the same material as the fairing. Fill the hole , let it dry and drill it. Havent had to try this method yet.
If your asking about repairing stripped screws in the outer fairing there are a few ways.
1 for temporary cut a 1" piece of zip tie and slip it into the hole and then screw the screw in, it will wedge and create threads
2 fill the hole with JB weld and redrill the hole and thread screw
3 fill the hole with JB Weld and then spray the screw with cooking Pam and thread into the soft JB Weld let it set and the screw will release because of the Pam
4 use ABS cement , pour some into a cup allow it to start to harden up and then fill the hole and redrill and thread screw
I just used slightly larger wood screws on the bottom 2 screw slots, (both left and right sides.) Started that 2 years ago and all stays secure, ( after 12 years and 110,000 miles too.)

Yup, bigger screws.
My mechanic used matching ones, just bigger. Not wood screws, but the same only black with torx heads.
