I have a 2009 Road King Police edition and I am looking to install a larger tire on the front. How large can I go without front end mods? Will it decrease the stability of the bike? I am thinking in the 23 inch range, any pros or cons or just extra thoughts?
well first thing.... i don't know what you mean by "not doing front end mods" but just about anything from 21" up is gonna require some mods... IF you're talking about not having to cut/rake the neck....form what i 've read you can do a 23" wheels with just different triple-trees.
I think some guys have used HD trike trees...and i know Pickard U.S.A. advertises a bolt on tree for running a 23" wheel...either way you're gonna have to mod the forks..probably lowering 1'-2" depending on the tire size you go with
by the way.. i like your style...GREAT choice with the 09 police bike... i've thought about building a custom Road King for my father-in-law and the 09 FLHP is exactly where i would start... just need to convince him he need$ one....
