Default Now what?!!!!!

So like I've said in a few other threads, a short time ago I traded my 07 Nighttrain in on what I thought to be an awesome 07 Ultra Classic with all sorts of goodies on it. Less than a week after getting it, the voltage regulator goes out. Dealership came and got it, fixed it. 3 days later while on a trip, the stator goes out. Cost me $700 bucks. The person that had it before me had the hogtunes speakers put in and the 2 channel amp. I have taken the fairing off twice to secure speaker wires that were loose. Everything works great for a week, stereo sounds great, bike runs good, then I go outside yesterday afternoon to go home from work, crank it up, set the channel on my Iphone to the music I want, stereo cranks up, then the front speakers and tweeter bar stop working, only the rears playing. CRAP!! REALLY??!!!

This is why I buy new bikes and I never buy from private sellers. You just never know. That sucks!

I am sure its just loose wires or a fuse issue. Check the physical layer first. Sounds like the guy who installed your stereo/speakers was a real "expert". Good luck man!

Thanks. I am hoping it's a fuse thing. That's kinda what it seemed like to stop so abrubtly. Guess I'll dig around in it this eveing. LOL.

Thats really too bad. I had a same thing happen when I bought my 05 FLHTCI. The guy that had the bike cut and splied wire all over the bike for intercom, CB, and amps. He just twisted the wires together and wraped with electical tape and figured that was OK. Well, it lasted till I got out of town. Needless to say it was a mess. Had to rip everything out and start over.

Definitely a sucky deal to get bike & run into lg # of issues off the bat...makes a guy wonder why they got rid of it..?? Hopefully this audio gremlin's the last for you & I'd do a good trace of all speaker wiring under the fairing to ensure everything's tight + add dielectric grease to every wire connection/socket. Good luck & that is a sweet look'n UC!!

Its a shame when people take a nice bike and do hack work like that. All you can do is rip it apart and start over it will be easier in the long run than putting up with gremlins and just keep chasing it. Heck at this point you dont even know if there are fuses in line. On the other hand bike looks good well kept in youre photo! Good luck ride safe

The more toys you have on an older vehicle/ bike the more chances you have of stuff going bad. I would buy me an extended service plan. When my 2 yrs gets ready to expire Im buying one right away. Before anything else happens I personally would if I were you. Read the ESP thread first so you have a better idea of the in's and out's.

So I pulled the front fairing off, amp wasn't lit. Went to pull the fuse on it, just as I touched it, the speakers came on. Pulled it out, looked it over, looks fine, put it back in. Speakers playing fine, for now.

Sweet! Good work. Glad it wasn't more involved.
