That SOUNDS like a great deal to me. I had an 07 UC and LOVED it. Only issue I had was the heat but that has probably been taken care of with the true duals and the Rineharts. I don't recall you saying if there is a tuner on it with the 103 kit and muffler mods and weather there was also a new intake put on. When he put the 103 kit on did he by chance drop in a set of SE255 cams too? (Those wake up that 103 kit better than anything).

My opinion is DO IT!!! (yesterday) but before you do it, ride the bike.

Then see if he would go your your bike and $3,000 tops. You have a lot more into your powertrain.

Cool So far away

I was thinking for me and my riding style about trading my 04 classic for the Heritage model. Vivid black with ultra wheels , SE cam-plate upgrade and adj pushrods. Makuni carb. Too bad you are so far away, we might like each others bike.

It has what looks like an upgraded air cleaner. I've asked about the build on the 103 and what tuner it has. He's checking with the dealer where he got it (3rd owner). That part makes me nervous. If the dealer got it in on trade and doesn't know anything about it and he guy with it now doesn't seem to know the details.

That's not unusual. The sales dudes don't get to know every trade that comes in other than year, color and model. I usually tell the dealership where I trade a bike in to have any potential buyer call me and I will give them the entire rundown on what is on the bike and what's been done. That way there are no surprises. One salesman paid me a referral bonus on a sale of my old bike for doing this. If I have anything (manuals, security pin codes, take offs, etc) I arrange for the new buyer to stop by the house to get them instead of just turning them in with the trade and having them disappear. I've made a few friends that way. I don't trade in junk so it's all good.

Hmm - interesting question. Here's the thing. The 2004 Heritage is a well put together bike with a modern frame design and a -B engine. Now I have a 2001 Fatboy and a 2010 Ultra, so I figure I can look at this from both sides. Personally I wouldn't trade the more recently redesigned Heritage for the legacy frame design (dates all the way back to 1980) of the 2007 Ultra. I would trade it for a 2009 or later Ultra . . . Just my opinion.

I'd do it. You'll love the UC. My buddy won't get rid of his and he's got several good offers.

Do it,the Heritage is a fine bike, but nothing compares to the ride of an Ultra. For the difference in money,I think its a pretty good deal.
