Default wings

g'day, i haven't bought them yet, but was wondering how to install them on a street glide. for instance, how do you get those three covers out of the bat wing. just to be clear i'm talking about something like hog wings. --------------- thanks fistbump

Those covers are just popped into the brass inserts; depending on what you've gotten (I have Freedom Wings), you just pull them out (I believe I just hooked the edge of my nail under the head of the 2 inserts on each side and pulled) and replace with the screws from the kit. The Freedom Wings use two screws...I think the HD/Kury parts use three. Too easy...

The Freedom wings work great and I believe are less money than the HD/Kury parts. The only negative I have to say about them is the heads of the mounting screws rusted BADLY; I replaced them with button-head stainless allen-head screws. The black phillips-head screws were rusting horribly and they'd been on the bike less than a year (installed June '11, 2 months after I got the bike). Perhaps that was an isolated incident; but I don't live near salt water, nor was the bike constantly in the rain...aside from that, I love 'em.
