I like it there. I have a Ram Mount mounted on my clutch bolts. lets me switch out my iPhone and Cupholder. But, having one where you put it would certainly let me use both...

I never new about the shake to shuffle. That's why my damn songs would switch all of the time, particularly when I hit a bump. I'll get that fixed right now...Thanks!

This is a great App...this app made me replace my Garmin GPS...gave it to the kids. I have a craddle in my truck and one for my bike, so I can use it just like a regular GPS...and, you never have to update the maps.

I'm also looking for an I-Pod mount. The reviews in this thread sound favorable, however I found a couple of negative comments on the Ram Mount website. One speaks to rust on the arms and the other to swaying of the phone while riding. Any truth to these comments?

Default make your gloves touchscreen compatible

Thankfully this little trick won't require you to have any sewing skills whatsoever, but you will need to be able to thread a few stitches without hurting yourself. You could always buy special gloves, but why do that when you can use your own gloves you already own and love.

Such existing gloves in the marketplace include TouchTec, Dots Gloves (these ones look super nice, and inexpensive if you don't feel like making your own), as well as the good old rumor a few months ago that Apple filed for a patent on winter-friendly iPhone gloves.

Most modern touch screens use "capacitive touchscreen" which in short means that for a glove to work with a touch screen it needs to complete a circuit with your finger. So that's what we're going to do by putting some conductive thread between the screen and our finger.

Supplies You will need:

* A glove.
* A needle.
* 12" (30cm) of conductive thread.

#1 Thread your needle
You don't need a whole lot of thread, just a foot or so.

#2: Sew a few stitches in the finger of your glove.
On the outside try to make the stitches pretty close so it only touches the screen in a smallish area (about 1/4" or 6mm in diameter.) This will help your finger touches be more accurate.

Tip: Don't make it too small! The iPhone, for example, will ignore small touch areas. If it doesn't seem to work very well, try increasing the size of the stitches on the outside.

On the inside of the finger, it's actually good for it to be messy (See #3).

3-5 stitches should be enough.

#3: Leave some extra inside the glove.
You want to make sure the thread touches your finger or your hand on the inside, so leave some extra. Leave danging thread on your knots, etc. You might even tack a bit to the lining of the glove

#4: Repeat on other fingers (optional)
If you use other fingers or thumbs to use your screen repeat the step on them too.

i have the same x-grip ram mount. I use it for my iphone on my street glide. i can't mount mine to the bars like you have it, i just have it with a double socket arm and a ball mount on top of my inner fairing. What's good about the x-grip mount is you can mount your iphone while it's still in the case, or ANY phone. I even used it today for my power vision as well, so it's multi-purpose which saves me space and $$

Thanks BrownSanta. Is conductive thread a special thread, or will any heavy duty thread work?

Thanks

Default I use Techmount clamp with universal Ram mount

Hi,
I am using the chrome Techmount handlebar clamp along with a Ram Universal mount. The Techmount lets you adjust to any orientation you need and Ram mount fits my Motorola Atrix without covering the power button, the aux jack or the volume control. The Ram mount adjusts for the width of your phone and is spring loaded for height. It doesn't vibrate at all and makes reaching my music super easy. I can still see my gauges and it's tucked away behind the fairing for protection. I also added an extra 12V plug on the inner fairing and use an 8" power cord to keep the phone plugged in.

Default Thread needs to conduct electricity.

Thanks
The screen on your phone is capacitive.It needs contact with your finger to operate. The thread has metal in it that is a conductor so that when your finger is in contact with the thread on the inside of the glove it conducts through the thread to the phone.
