Default Street Glide or Electra Glide Classic

OK so yesterday I go and ride a new 2012 Street Glide.
And my wife and I really like it.
But for the same money I can have a 2012 Electra Glide Classic which does have more options for the same price but it is a full out touring bike.
I prefer the looks of the Street Glide and I don't ever see my wife and I taking more than day trips on it. Due to her job and other commitments.
But I may do some longer term touring by myself.
So I am really thinking Street Glide. As my other choice is a Softail Fat Boy
What do you guys think.

e.g. classic for sure...tell the dealer to throw in the electronic cruise control if it is not already on bike.

You can't go wrong with either one. If it were me I would go with the EG,but hey I like the plush things in life.

I agree. The EG for the better suspension if nothing else.

If you buy a SG and end up adding a touring seat and a tour pack, you should have bought an EG. If you buy an EG and take of the tour pack, drop the suspension, you should have bought a SG.

+1. I love the stripped down look of the Street Glide, but the tour pac is handy as a pocket on a shirt. Of course for an arm and a leg, you could get docking hardware and a tour pac for the SG as well.

You get more for your money with the Classic, but there is something about that stripped down street glide that screams cool.

I have the classic, and have the QD tour pack, removed the bag cages and have a steam lined seat, it gets close to the cool look of the street glide when it's naked.

I pondered the same thing before I bought. I got the EG and I'm very glad I did.
