Ok I have a 11 SG with sundowner seat and backrests for both. Like many here I like rising with my wife and her comfort is important to me. So I've been wondering if I should trade for a ultra limited (I prefer that look over the other 2) or put on some new (13"?)shocks new seat and tour pak. She's likes the cocoon like look of the rear seat. Of course the intercom and rear speakers also would be nice.
So I'm sure some of you guys have been in this position.

Thanks for your input!
Change the seat and install the detachable Tourpak. I have done this on my 2010 SG (see sig pic). That way you get the best of both worlds; functional for trips and remove the tourpak, swap out the seat and you have a sporty looking machine.
Depends on how badly your gonna get beat up on the trade. I added Ohlins, and that alone has made my wife's butt happy. Looking at a detachable tour pack with all the comforts for her.
I have my glide just about the way I want it and fear I would lose big trading it in. upgrades will cost me much less.
I can do 500 + days comfortably with the new shocks
The wife will prefer the Limited and by the time you add all the stuff to the SG you will have spent a sizeable down payment that you will still have to spend when you eventually DO buy the Limited. And you will just as soon as the wife rides on one.
Hey this was almost scary to read because I was at the dealer this weekend looking at a ember red and merlot limited, we took it for a ride and the wife fell in love with it but I also have the sundowner seat and tour pack with the speakers for my 11 streetglide so I'm finding it very hard to pull the trigger on it! But I will say for some reason I can get my feet flat on the ground on the limited but not on my glide even with the stock seat on...beats me even my buddy who is the salesmen was stumped but it is a sweet ride but with the 13s about to come out I think I'm goin to wait and see what the anniversary colors look like and if I don't like that then I'm buying the limited for sure!
