OK so I have a street glide and it came with the 4 inch windshield which was pretty much useless. So I did my research and found an 8.5 inch flaired one new on eBay. I just got it today and put t on I'm 5 10 and t came to nose level. But when I look through it everything is distorted nd my polorized sunglasses make it hard to see through. Ow its like seeingover a car hood i think it is more dangerious cuz i cant see road hazards. I was sick for about an hour afterwards... I can't return it but do u think I should cut it down at the bottom I'm not sure it would work the same. Anyoneelse have this problem or wanna trade for a smaller flaired one?
You are not suppose to look through the windshield but above it. The original design was 6.5" for average height which I would consider 5'10".

I use my windshield in two ways. Normally I look over it, which I can do with ease. If the weather gets cold or rains heavily I will slouch so I can look through it, to be more comfortable, bobbing up at intervals to get a better look.
It is essential to look over. If you want to do as I do get yourself a plain clear shield with minimum curvature.
Make it bigger than you think you will want, and go for a ride. Try it out, then go home and shorten it, then try again. The height I was looking for is when I'm looking over the screen and getting wind, but not the full blast. I tested this by raising myself up in the seat and seeing how much higher I could be without getting blasted. If you raise yourself 4" before you get slammed, then cut some more off. If you start getting the full blast as soon as you raise yourself off the seat, but are in good air while sitting, then you are done.
It's honestly a 5 minute job to cut it shorter. I got lucky and was right on the height the first try, but I just had to make a 1 1/2" shorter version of the stocker.
I purchased a 8'' Klock werks, I am 6'1'' it did not divert any air like advertised. It was like riding my Bigdog chopper. I took it off, reboxed it and sold it on ebay. POS!
