Thumbs up Experienced Rider Class!

Hello All,

It's been said on other posts, but I took a one day experienced rider class at a local community college since my EG is heavier than any other scoot I've ever owned and I needed a waiver anyway to get the endorsement on my license.

All I can say is that was the best $79 I've spent in quite a while. My instructor was a former Honda sponsored bike rodeo rider and really put us through the paces with the slow speed maneuvering, sudden stops, sweeping turns, weaving, swerves, etc. I thought I knew a thing or two about riding, but I came away with a new found appreciation for safety, and I think, a new skill set for the road. The guy even gave us tips to instruct passengers on their roles in the ride.

I think I'll be back, just not when its 95 friggin degrees out!

Frank

Frank, I too have thought of taking an advanced riding class. I'm not too proud to admit I don't know everything about riding. The skill you may learn may save your life. That's reason enough for me. Check out this web site it may save ya $79. I think I read that it is FREE. www.bikesafenc.com

Yeah - I'm probably way over due for more training. Gotta imagine I've picked up a bad habit or two over the past few years!

I am scheduled for it this Thursday, the Army does a great job of sending us through the courses at no cost to us. Basic Riders Course is mandatory, within a year either the Advanced Riders Course or the Sportbike Course, and some type of refresher every three years thereafter.

I took the experienced rider course myself last month ($20.00). It was good day and I did pick up a few safety tips. For overall riding comfort I believe I learned more from my Ride Like a Pro instructional videos. But I did get my card which will allow me to ride on military installations if one is in area while traveling.

I took the MSSF Experienced Rider course again this past April shortly after I took delivery of my 2012 FLHR. I highly recommend the one-day course. It's money and time well spent.
