I just got the Metz and rode them from GA to TX and loved the ride and the handling. When I was riding the first hundred miles in GA i was scraping floorboards around alot of corners that I never did on my Dunlops.

On the note of tire pressure. What is the correct pressure for the Metz on a 10 FLHX

I don't think the brand of the tire makes any difference pressure wise. I run 42psi in my rear American Elite and we ride duo 99% of the time. If you run solo I wouldn't go below 40psi.
Front has 38psi.

I am running the Dunlop 407 rear and 408F for the front; over 20K on both and still lots left; very even wear, front to rear. Handles great as well, IMO.

After researching/reading about it, I'm running 45psi in the rear on my 2010 SG.

Screw that, put a car tire on the back. They work better and last longer.

I now have a pair of Dunlop American Elites on my bike.
The stock tires were OK but wore funny on the edges and made too much noise to me.
They did last a long time though.
The dealer chnged my front 407 for a 408 at 12,000 miles because of noise.
I had the American Elite put on the rear at 18,000 because of noise , it still had a couple thousand miles left.
I replaced the front again at 19,000 miles and now the noise is all gone.
The AE tires have a nice feel to them and the tread pattern on the edge is tighter than the 407/408 , so I'm thinking they will wear more evenly over time.
Only time will tell though.
Mick

Luckily I am not at the point to replace tires, but I am curious as to how the Michelin tires pan out.

Running D407 rear & D408F front. Replaced the rear at 17,200 with 4/32" tread still left. Was heading out on 2K ride and wanted a fresh rear. Replaced the front at 29,700 with 2.5/32" left. +1 on ME880's. They are pressure sensitive. The front went cuppy with plenty of tread left. What a waste.

The Metzelers are what my mechanic recommends. He's been in the repair business for 30+ years. I just replaced the original rear Dunlop on my Deluxe with another Dunlop for now. Generally you get two rear tires to one front. So when either tire wears out next I'm going with Metz front and rear per his advice. Although I do have to say I got 14,000 miles out of the Dunlop. I hear the Metzelers have a shorter lifespan.

I got 30,000 km's (18,000mi) on my stock rear Dunlop. The front had 40,000km's on it when I traded my bike in and still had life in it. I liked the way they rode and held up for me. I rode solo most of the time and not real aggresive.
