I use a half helmet and the headset that came with the bike. I had Velcro sewn on the chinstrap near my ears. I can put the headset on in seconds and take it off when not in use

Does the Velcro on the strap bother you when you are not using the headset?
J&M headset and Fulmer helmet...one thang I can't stand is the helmet speakers pressing on the ears, hurts after a short while....found the Fulmer helmet has deep ear pockets, very comfortable with speakers installed....I also have the HD microphone, use a shorty and no headset, works through the factory speakers. I don't think HD sells the mic anymore, why I have no idea....
Glad to hear the stock HD set works well. I have a trip coming up as well. Thanks for the info.
I went out and bought a GMAX 67 (3/4) helmet today, it has the flip down internal dark visor, the price was only 81.00 bucks. I made an arrangement that I may return if I don't get a proper fit. So I mounted the HD head gear and that works well. However, after wearing around the home for 30 minutes I started to feel unwanted pressure on my ears, so I will be taking it back. and my ears are fair close to my head. After wearing 1/2 helmets for years it is hard to wear anything other for me.

I have a Nolan Super Cruise which has the zip-on lower...so I had to modify the HD head set mount on the inside by grinding the higher sides of the clamp to make it work for screw line up so I don't cross thread the screws...That worked great.. the helmet has a removable liner so I was able to run the speaker lines under that and mount the speaker to the zip-on inner liner..I have no unwanted pressure anywhere. So now I have to see if the speakers will be sufficient for hearing.
I will most likely look at sewing some kind of material on the straps if the volume is sufficient.

This is what I use. Doesn't matter what kind of helmet you have.
