Default 2009-2012 rear tire replacement cost?

I saw a gentlemen's post earlier about how many miles everyone was getting out of their 2009 and up rear tires... i saw somebody said they paid dealer $325.00 plus tax to have a replacement installed ... did not want to hijack that thread... about a month ago my dealer said they would replace my rear tire (16,000) miles on my 2010 Road King for $330.00 plus tax.... took bike in for 15,000 mile service and they found a nail in my rear tire .... they are now charging me $362.00 plus tax for replacement... i wasnt to happy but the bike is already there... since i dont go pay the bill till next week i was curious as to how much some of you have paid for rear tire replacement from a dealer and is it possible that prices have gone up that much in a month.... not to thrilled with the dealer at this point ..... Thx...

Last month our local dealer had a deal on ANY Dunlop tire....$160 bucks each.

I had new WW's installed on my '03 RK and WWW's on my '98 Heritage Anniversary Springer. With new tubes, rub strips, mounted and balanced each bike was around $425.

I'm hoping they'll repeat this deals next year!

I ordered a Dunlop D407 from cyclepartsforless.com for $238.00 (free shipping)and had the local indy switch it for $20.00. If I had not just got a new front tire from the dealer under warranty I would have bought the American elites. I still have the thin white walls.

I paid a little over $500 for both front and back from the stealer....on my other bike. Sounds like you get the stealer special!

I just bought my first set at the dealer after 14,500 miles. I ignorantly paid $650 for both tires and that was with a $50 discount !! Stupid me for not getting on the forum first. Hope someone learns from my mistake.

I think it depends where you live. My brother in GA had both front and rear changed at his dealer for $325. I called multiple shops and dealers in Phx/Mesa area and was quoted anywhere from $290- $350 for a rear only. So I bought a Michelin from J&P for $128 took the wheel off myself and paid an indy to mount and balance for $20. That was my experience. Front is going Michelin next for $108 at J&P.

Everybody that's comparing prices pay attention to the year of the bike. 09 up tires are $100-$150 more than older bikes. But they are a lot cheaper online than from the dealer. Indy or dealer will charge $20-40 labor if you carry the wheel in. Expect to pay up to $100 if you ride the bike in. Over $300 is to be expected for that year if you ride it in. I order mine online and take the wheel to the Honda shop and my total is $225.

The dealer around here wants $270 to replace the back tire on my '08 electra glide.I go to a guy who will put the same H-D tire on my bike for $160.If you take the wheel off yourself he only charges for the tire.If he takes the wheel off for you he charges an extra $20.

My local indy, the Hog Doctor, took 'n told me and whutknot else, this.....the Dunlop you receive from HD is a different Dunlop that one can buy over the net. As the dealer tire has harder tire compound in the wear area vs. the Elite tire. That may explain some of the higher charge for tires from the dealer. This is whut the Hog Doctor took 'n told me and I'm buyin' it.
