Default Securing Saddlebags

For those of you that are using a j-nut and bolt or even the Brukus hardware to secure your saddlebags --- are you also using loctite on the bolts??? paul

I have the Burkus system on my Street Glide and fender / J nuts on my wife's Softail Deluxe bragger and have never had any problem with them coming loose. And I have never used loctite on either one. Honestly never even given loctite any thought.

Nope, no loctite. I take my bags off to clean and work on the bike fairly oftem so I wouldn't want them loctited. Never found them to be loosened up any at all.

No loctite, just use the lock nuts with the nylon in them.

Thanx for all the replies! I did have one of the bolts vibrate right out of the j-nut on the left saddlebag (which does vibrate more). Perhaps I didnt tighten if enough?? I appreciate all the suggestions. paul

Ditto. Loctite is a Harley builder's best friend

As long as you use blue locktite, there won't be any problem getting them off. I do it all the time.

Why would one bag vibrate more than the other? Are the brackets that the J- Nuts or Speed Nuts attached to loose?
