So I went with the 2.5 under stock. like it much better but there is a bit more wind buffet now kinda sucks.

What do you run?
I suggest you look for a recurve style windshield. My two favorite brands are Longride Shields and Fastaire Shields. They are both quality pieces. Check out their websites, they are both forum sponsors.

I have a 9" and an 8". The height of the windshield, when you're sitting relaxed in your seat, is critical for maximum comfort. I'm 5'8" w/ 31" inseam. I can see over the 8" when sitting totally relaxed and on the 9" I can see over it in most seated positions, and can kinda duck behind it if need be. Both of the websites mentioned have tips for finding the best height.

You might try taking a piece of blue painters tape and put it at a measured height across your windshield. Go for a ride and see how easy it is to look just over the tape. This will give you a ballpark height to finally order a windshield. Hopefully you will get the right height for your first purchase...

Did you get one with a recurve (flip) on top?

Recurve will definitely make a big difference. We have a good video on our website too that explains height choice if that helps. : )

8.5" Klock Werks on my 09 FLHX...@ 5'11" I look right @ top of shield. Adding this + fork baffle + batwings + lower fairing reduced buffeting to a more tolerable level...

6' 2", stock seat on an '07 Ultra and I am running the 9" LRS "standard flip" which puts the top of the windshield at about mouth level or so.

I went to a 6" and the wind buffeting was too much, I''m now back to the standard w/s that came with the bike. My problem is my line of sight is catching the top of the w/s and that I don't like. I may have to go with a higher one by 2-3". Everybodys different in thier fit I guess.

For a Road King:

19" recurve from LRS. The 17" was still just a bit short & would shake my helmet when I wear one.

I'm 6'2 & the seat is stock.

There are so many threads on this. It is so hard to answer. All these are good questions.

I'm 6ft. with an LRS Ultra 8" and love it. After lowering my seat I still love it but am debating going down to a 7". LRS is great and my Ultra flip is great. Check out their website and give'em a call.

I'm 6'1" and I ride a 2006 Road Glide...The stock windshild was too low, so I went with a Clearview 2+ (2" over stock). The upper edge is just about nose level. This way I get very little buffeting and a clear view in the rain.
