If the basket is from a 98 no, if it is from a 99 I think it will.

the 2000 uses 37550-98 clutch hub...so introduced in 1998.

the online parts manual is your friend, bookmark it

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche..../showmodel.asp

the clutch basket has a 36T version 37707-98A ($260)

and a 37T version 37846-99A ($350)

count the teeth to determine the one you want, or consider if you want a slight gearing change

It also depends on whether they are both FI or carb bikes, the FI bikes 37 tooth pulley & carb bikes 36 tooth pulley for the primary chain. FI 24/37= 3.37 gearing, carb 25/36= 3.15 gearing.

The parts finder I use, Ronnies HD, says the part # is the same37707-98, but the # for the 2000 is a 37707-98A. This usually means they will interchange, but the "A" means there is some kind of update, if there is a major change it gets a new part#. Price is the same for both.

i'm confused. if you have to order the part anyway, why the question on interchangeability? just order the one for your bike

skratch i asked because i found 2 complete clutch assemblies at a salvage motorcycle shop and its a whole lot cheaper than buying from Harley both of these are 150.00 complete with primary chain and even the tensioner is why i asked for interchangability one is off a 1998 other is off at 1999
