I'm missing the back bolt that holds the seat down after getting my bike back from the indy shop - not pleased. - could anyone tell me what size bolt and what thread type so I can save a few bucks and pick one up from the local hardware store? It's a 2001 FLHTCUI if it matters. Thanks in advanced.
I replaced mine with a stainless steel socket head cap screw. I use an extended length ball end allen drive screw driver to be able to get by the tourpak and get a decent bite on the bolt. As stated above, it is a 1/4-20.
lol - sarcasm? - this screw-up wasn't as bad as his "6-8 weeks" estimate that turned into 4 months; or his upsale of a full paint job as it would be quicker than waiting for harley painted parts - only to tell the insurance co that the reason it was taking so long was because of "upgrades" I was doing outside of the estimate... I've never been more disappointed with service in my life... from anyone. He was so highly recommended by a friend as well - o well.
I think what I learned the most though, is to go home and detail your bike after service. I found several things that were overlooked, from messed up paint, to a lose bolt holding the front wheel well onto the fork, to missing bolts from my fairing... etc.
