On my older bike the rear valve is in the side cover, so I don't have to disturb anything to get at it. You could consider altering yours to make life easier.

I love the little mods that make life easier
I don't suppose you have any pics do you?
Hi Matt, it's mounted in the side cover, not the saddle bag. You can see my r/h white bag and blue side cover in my sigpic, it's in my l/h cover. I can't take a photo of my bike at present (its in bits!).
If you look at this link to Ronnies microfiches, item #19 and #21 are connected one to each shock, bringing the airlines from the two shocks together, then #22 with the valve in it fits through a hole in the cover. If you used a similar set-up you could put the visible valve anywhere you fancy!

Just completed a 2,500 mile trip to Sturgis and around on my 12 RGC. Rode and handled beautiful.
Needles Highway, Iron Mountain Road and many of the other roads in the Hills, not a single issue. 220 pound rider and 50 psi in the shocks. Don't need to waste a cent on aftermarket shocks at all.
I have a 2010 streetglide and its the worst riding motorcycle i have ever owned! The rear shocks suck! I shouldnt have to buy new shocks for a 20,000 dollar vehicle!

You are quite right about that, there is much to complain about with our bikes, although that has been the case since I bought my first new Harley back in the 70s. However, if you decide to change your shocks, don't try to do it on the cheap, that is just a waste of money.
Maybe I will just stick with my old broken in '07 RK which currently has 56K on it and rides just fine as I have no complaints with the suspension or handling at all.
Sounds like all you boys with the newer frame hate the suspension for some odd reason.
