Default Resetting a Throttle Sensor

Does anyone know if there is a con to resetting a Throttle sensor. I read on here to do it you turn the ignition off and swith the kill switch on. Turn the ignition on and off 3 times then on the 4th let it run for 5 minutes? Anyone have an opionion on this being good or bad?

Had to do this twice on my 08 Ultra. It works, nothing wrong with it. I think that you have to wait 10 seconds between each movement of the ignition switch. Not sure of this though. It's been a while.

awesome thanks! It doesn't hurt anything with the race tuner or any other settings?

You don't have to let it run for 5 minutes after the reset either.

if you are successful in clearing the codes, but they keep popping back up, then you have a continuing problem that needs to be addressed.

I know this isn't really the thread for it but...Does anyone know what would cause a p1510 error and also the throttle sensor error when I turn my bars all the way to the left (stand side). The bike has no symptoms however gives the check engine light when this happens and those codes?

Just had to do the reset. No issues with it.

You turn the ignition on, wait 10 seconds. Then turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds. Do this 4 times and you're done.

Works like a charm.

i think the significance is the fuel pump? I've never had any issues at all once I started waiting for it to finish initiating after flipping run switch. You can hear it and there's an icon that lights up. When the sound is stops and that icon is no longer lit, thenI hit the start button. Never before or during that sequence.
