I have the Mustang and the wife has the adjustable HD on her Tri Glide. I much prefer the Mustang. One thing to think about is if you ride with a passenger. The Mistang is padded enough without the bulk of the HD. Also no so wide as to be uncomfortable for the passenger legs to split around. It is also thinner to maximize rear seat room. Mustang makes a bracket to fit the stock HD seat.
............... I leaned it forward to get on and off the bike. .....................

The HD one won't and I couldn't find where the Utopia did either.

He said he liked to lean it forward to get on and off the bike. So I was explaining the diffference to him.

Had a Mustang backrest for the past 6 years. Recently purchased a HD Hammock and HD backrest. HD backrest is significantly more comfortable than the Mustang. You can tell just by looking/feeling the two.
If anyone's interested in a Mustang touring solo w/pilon and back rest, I'm selling.
Utopia has the ability to be Lower on the Back than others, I have one with the option that sets it 1/2" FUTHER BACK from the wind shield, and the option for Quick Release/slide out, too.
Works for me
My 09 RG SE stock seat is very thin and low so the backrest being able to be lower (not tall) fits me great and feels just right, and looks better than the HD one that is taller (for thicker seats). It has an adjustment screw (forward & rear angle) in the back I can turn on the fly if needed, usually I keep it where it is.

Got the Mustang backrest yesterday. Took a 133 mile ride today with it, what a difference! Way easier to get on and off the bike and my back isn't as sore as it has been! Thanks for your recommendation!

I bouhgt the vintage solo seat from mustang and it came with a back rest, so I don't need this anymore
