lower fairings for my SG
1. Will most lowers for a HD touring bike fit my '08 Street Glide?
( I know someone who has a set of lowers for sale )
2. If I buy the speakers for the lowers, do I need an extra amp to power them or just the stereo system already on the bike?

lowers are lowers - they fit a stock HD crash bar
if you are looking for ones to put speakers into, you need to get the VENTED Lowers
you will need to buy the speaker pods to replace the pouches
do yourself the favor, put an amp on the system and upgrade both the speakers in the dash and the lowers so that you put the same thing in both
the system IS able to push all 4 speakers, as a stock system pushes all 4 on an ultrra (front and rear), but an amp will just add so much better sound,
an amp boost the volume without having to turn up the sound soooo much on the headunit that you distort the signal

I assume 'best mod' is the lower fairings and not necessarily the speakers?
A friend of mine said the first time you ride in rain you'll appreciate the lowers. He said he keeps them on now rain or shine.

Put vented lowers on my 08 SG and I really like them. Good for rain and those cold evenings when I get in late. Also the lowers let me put the stock 4" windscreen back on as they change the airflow over the batwing so the air doesn't try to tear my head off with the short windscreen anymore.

I was told only the vented lowers had the 'pouches' or hole to place speakers.
do I have some 'wrong' information?
Can speakers be placed in vented or non-vented lowers?
