I tried the TTC2 on my Street Glide and didn't care for it so I switched for the Dakota Digital antenna which works fine. It' $40 more but seems to be worth it.

I had TTC2 and it worked OKas long you stayed in Urban areas, but once breaking out city limits it was not good and you loose stations.[sm=forgetit.gif] I ended up putting the old whips back on.[sm=smiley20.gif]

I've got the hidden antenna. Had it installed before I picked up the bike. I believe it was in the Harley catalog. Works great, although most of the time I'm listening to either CD's or my MP3 player.

Onlythebest - nice bike.

ORIGINAL: recross

left the mount in place and put a small black rubber cap over the ant. mounting stud.....

For those of you that went with a hidden. What did you do about your mount on the tour pack, Just leave it there?

I had the holes filled in and retouched while I had my tank repaired. Like the clean look.

I have the one in your first link.I always listen to XM so I don't use it very often but it works pretty good when I do.I cut the stock antenna down to 6" with side cutters.I very seldom run with the tour pack on anyway.

The stealer took my mount out and zip tied the cable and tucked it away. As for the hole, they plugged it with the rubber plug HD sells just like the one on the oposite fender for .99 centswhich they were sure to charge me for after I spent 29k on the bike. Their custom chrome guy did a great job on the bike so no real complaints.

Got the Tune Trapper with the 6' lead rather than the one with 2' they sell for motorcyles. Ran the lead down the backbone of my Ultra and store it under seat. I have a removable tour-pak and when i remove the tour pak just plug in the TT, put the tour pak back on and plug in whip. Whip is slightly better, and i do probably lose some reception with TT by having the longer lead. Works great for me.

I have used the Tune Trapper, the Dakota Digital and the factory whip, and currently use the Dakota. I had all three and did an A/B/C comparison in my garage. The Dakota Digital and the TT are very close in reception with a slight edge going to the Dakota Digital. The factory whip is better than either, but not a lot, and definately not enough better for me to put the whip back on.

I have XM, so I don't concern myself with the AM/FM anyway.

Regards,

Bill
