trying to do the procedure on my 06 ultra and can't get a green light on the cruise when I start the bike. I am suspecting a bad roll off switch on the throttle cable, but trying to do the lash as the manual describes. Can it be done it you have a bad roll off switch?
Cruise might be different on an 06, but on a 11 FLHTK, the green cruise light will not come on until the cruise control is engaged and that won't happen until you are moving around 35 mph. Not sure of exact speed.
Yes the green will show during testing and initialization procedures but normal operating you would be correct.
I am doing the cable lash procedure as described in the manual. You start by pushing the resume/set to resume, turn cruise switch on, key switch to ignition and the red cruise light turns green, then let off the resume and light goes back red, then hit resume again and the engine will rev setting the memory of the motor revs. This is from memory but I think I am close.
I can't get the green light, wondering about the roll off switch.
gobblerhuntr...I assume your cruise is not engaging. If so, I had that happen on my 06 RKC. what turned out to be the problem is that when my bike was serviced, the tech took the right side Kury neck cover off and when he reinstalled it, he put the cables in a bind. none of the testing showed the problem and I only discovered the problem when I took the cover off, saw the cables routed incorrectly.
oh well, just a thought if you have a similar setup as I was thinking switch and it was not.
