So I'm riding my new SG today and I notice a "knocking" sound from the rear of the bike. I quickly realize that its the rubber-mounted license plate holder hitting the fender. Even happens at a stop as the rubber-mounted motor vibates like a **** (something I didn't have to experience with my rigid-mounted counterbalanced Softail motor).
Anyone else experience this? Anyone found a way around it?

Thanks!
I installed a Billet Curved Frame and extra foam on the back side. Problem solved and it looks good!
hmmmmm. I noticed a sound like that the other night as well (without ear plugs ya hear everything) I installed the HD Curved License Plate holder recently but didn't put the foam bumper pieces on........maybe a bonehead move on my part since I thought there was enough clearance between the fender and the back of the plate. I'm putting them on now, if that's the general consensus as to what is making that ticking sound back there.

Did you have to remove the rear tire to install this?

No! I have a 200/17" inch wheel in the rear and it was a tight fit to get my hand and a socket wrench under there to tighten the bolts. Had to use the smallest ratchet that I had. If you have a regular size tire back there it shouldn't be a problem.
if you havent removed the reflector that comes with it yet that will give you a bit of extra clearance. plus i installed shorter bolts, they looked awfully close to hitting the fender
