Im looking at the same 9" Flat Top in clear.
I did the placing an object in the driveway and backing up 50' deal and put some masking tape on the stock windshield at 8, 9 and 10". Im leaning towards the 9" one as im always slouching back with the feet up on the highway pegs.
Its borderline being able to see over it and the 8" i think would just not provide enough protection especially if it starts raining hard.
I know height doesnt mean much by itself, but im 6' and have the stock seat on my 08 EGC.
Any info on how it is when it starts raining hard or if the light tint causes any issues with short view night driving would be appreciated.
You will be looking over the shield and in that regard tint looks cool. As far as rain it is a big difference over stock in that it is much better. As I have dark tint sometimes I don't even know that it is sprinkling until I come to a stop.
I have both the 7" and 8" dark tint Flat Top and they are great shields. I originally ordered the 8" and it was just a little too tall for me, so I ordered the 7" and it is perfect for me to see over.
The 8" has about 30 miles on it and I will be selling it in the classifieds so if your interested keep an eye out for it or PM me.
