Hey everyone! I got a 2007 ultra classic! Just really started doing my own fliud changes! I work on vehicles for a living so I'm hoping future issues won't be a problem. I have 20,000 miles on it so far with no problems! I have read on here issues people have with some things. I guess what I'm asking is, what do I need to start checking as far as preventable issues in the future. I've read changing SE or changing chain tensioner!? Like I said I'm new at this so any info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again!!!
if you ride hard or 2 up a lot,i would put a heavier clutch spring in it,in 07 harley went too a lighter spring and taller gearing the combination leads to slipping wich will shorten clutch life.the cam chain tensioners in your 07 are the new and improved design, although i can't tell ya how often to inspect them.they shouldn't be as much of a problem compared to the older bikes.
Got an'07 Ultra myself and the only thing you have to watch out for is that you keep an eye on the time. Before you know it it will get late because you'll be having too much fun. Enjoy the ride. Treat it well and it will serve you a long time without trouble.
Thanks guys! I don't ride hard or abuse it! I do ride 2 up alot! I think it's an awesome bike and love to ride it! Just didnt know if I needed to be on the look out for anything! Once again thanks for all the responses!!
Some (many?) owners reported what seemed to be a drive line vibration or noise. In '08, Harley introduced the IDS rear wheel pulley, with a retrofit for the '07.
When I joined this forum I read everything and anything about all bikes and after awhile I was able to make determinations as to which years have this problem or which models have this kind of problem. My suggestion is to read, read and read, paying particular attention to the model and year your wanting to learn about.

I read the link. I have not noticed the noise in 5 / 6 th gear. But I never let it get below 2500 RPMs at that speeds. I still wonder if it has already been done. When I get my discounted oil change I will ask if it is stock.
Now for a novice question. Do I need to do any maintenance to the drive belt that runs to the tire.
And how many miles / month should a belt last?
