Default Help getting console off

I have a 2005 Road King Classic and I want to get the console off so I can install a new Dakota digital.

The service manual tells me how to do this but it does not tell me how to remove the medallion on the console (nearer to the seat) to remove the screw and flat washer.

I've tried to pop it off but I couldn't get it to move and I didn't want to cause damage.

Can any one tell me how to get the medallion off? I assume this is how I gain access to the the screw and flat washer the service manual talks about.

Thanks
Bob

Try prying with a thin knife with a piece of cloth underneath whatever you use to pry with to avoid any possible scratch. Take your time and be patient. Good Luck!!
