Not a bad solution, but not a good one if you really want to integrate. With the HDplus you get full control of you ipod from your stock controls. For me this or the harley version were the only options. I also don't want to be fiddling with my ipod to change playlists etc. Just a bad idea. And too many times I forgot to grab my ipod out of the saddlebag or tourpak because I locked it up so it wouldn't get stolen. Then Id have to settle for FM radio until I could stop and grab it. Plus audio quality is still better than any other option.
The 12 CVO's come with an interface and zipped pocket in the right saddle bag along with an Ipod Nano.
Should be available from the dealer parts dept.
Now if I just knew how to load music into that thing, I would plug it in. The directions are with it but they are so tiny that I need to go out and buy a magnifying glass first.
I bought a Ram Mount with a short extender and mounted my iPhone, then run my audio cable under the flaps on my windshield pockets and plug up to my radio. Then I download a supper nice GPS, GPS Drive by Motion X and have gps that has a play button built right into the gos to play your mp3s. Think I spent about $30 total.
I was going to hardwire mine but just use the XM Skydock and plug it into the lighter.
I have the XM app, iTunes, and a good Garmin GPS app all in one, not to mention a phone too!
i was gonna do the rear hard mount aux plug today with the iron audio plug but when i went to radio shack they gave me the wrong cabe it does not have three wires and of course my bike is in a thousand pieces and i am stuck at the firehouse for 24 fml radio shack sucks
Installed my iron cross audio hdhpplus and I'm happy with the result. Left an iPod nano I side the fairing and have my music wi me at all time, I don't update my music often so it's cool
There's some stuff I'll spend big bucks on for my Harley, but an interface/mount for my iphone isn't one of them. My $7 solution was to pick up an audio cable, plug one end into my radio auxiliary jack, the other into the iphone, stick the iphone in the windshield pocket and go.
I went the iron cross route, $60, easy install (I installed when I did the bars, brake lines etc..) I bluetooth to my Sena SMH10 and it works awesome, not a glitch. I picked up the iphone mount from michael's stainless innovations.
