Unhappy iphone adapters

I was wondering what people were using to connect their iphone to there radios? I have a 2006 streetglide I have made a sweet mount by mixing and matching pieces through Ram mounts I am wondering if anybody
besides BOOM audio makes an interface that isn't 400 bucks I am using a 10 dollar aux cord that bounces out of the aux plug just seeing who is crafty out there thanks

My HDPDPLUS2 just got delivered. I'm installing it tonight and I'll be buying an iPod nano and just leave it behind the fairing. I don't upload music often and this way it all stays nice and clean. My phone just stays in my pocket like when I ride my other bikes

This is the way to go for "hardwiring" the iPhones.

and then this

This didn't work on mine. Here's a pic of my aux plug. Had to do a lot of work just to figure out it wouldn't work. Hassle.

There's some stuff I'll spend big bucks on for my Harley, but an interface/mount for my iphone isn't one of them. My $7 solution was to pick up an audio cable, plug one end into my radio auxiliary jack, the other into the iphone, stick the iphone in the windshield pocket and go.

Here is a pretty good informative thread from this forum.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...2011-flhx.html

I bought and use the cable discussed in the thread, online for 20 bucks. It works great.
Sound is much louder and clearer with the 30 pin connector than with just the small headphone type connector.

http://isimplesolutions.com/connecto...Wire-IS75.aspx

search around, you can find it at a reasonable price with free shipping.

Amazon Amazon

Its all still "external" but it charges the phone and works well with the audio through your radio.

Picked up a bicycle handlebar mount made by scosche and an audio cable through where handlebars go into fairing. Works great looks good. Seen similar one for bikes and it was $150. Mine was $19.96 walmart.

My Alpine HU has usb iPod controls, bluetooth & HD radio. I ran a 6ft black iPod usb cable($3 on eBay) from my HU to right saddlebag. Out of site out of mind. So if you spend $400 get a new HU & handlebar controller and you'll be all set

Iron cross has a great unit and it is a simple install. Put it on my ultra and it worked great, if you have an iPhone pandora works. I paid 270 for it just a couple months ago.
