Exhausr Install
I ordered some Rush headers, exhaust, and a SE air cleaner from the dealer. I know I can do the air cleaner no problem but I've never done the exhaust before. The dealer wants to charge about 3 1/2 hours worth of labor not counting the money for the download.
I just got off the phone with Brian at FuelMoto and they have the Rush Maps and can send me a PC V for $299 with the map installed.
I just think it would be much cheaper to do the work myself. So, how difficult is it to do an install of headers and mufflers?

Do you have some basic hand tools? Sockets, screwdrivers, and a torque wrench?
Do you know what the different tools are for? (socket wrenches are NOT hammers, no matter what my wife thinks)
If so, you can do the install easily.
You may have to get a crowfoot wrench or universal for your socket in order to reach the exhaust manifold nuts, but that's the hardest part of the whole install. Well, that and ensuring that you don't mistake ft/lbs for in/lbs on the torque.

Like Mike says, basic tools and knowledge will get ya thru it. Ya might, and i repeat, might want to get a set of exhaust gaskets if the new head pipe doesn't come with them. Youtube will be your friend on this one for sure. And last thing is ANYTHING the boys at FM do, is done the right way, no B/S over there at all!!! Good luck with project.

IMHO the exhausts is easier than the air cleaner. you will need both a inch/lb (1/4 inch) and a ft/lb (1/2 inch) torque wrenches but for a lot of HD wrenching you will need them anyway (probably fixing to get flamed but the harbor freight torque wrenches are good enough for the home users http://www.harborfreight.com/catalog...=Torque+Wrench)
also buy a inexpensive 3/16 Allen wrench that you can grind down it will make removing the old air box easier.
