I too my 01 EGC down to Southern Choppers to have new cam chain tensioners and an Andrews 26 cam installed. The bike will be ready today but one minor problem...I broke my left foot last night non-motorcycle related accident and now I'm in a freaken cast and I can't get the bike! I never broke a bone before and ain't this just my luck?!
That is bad timing if it is going to happen. Just remember, everything happens for a reason. You can make arrangements to get the bike back home. I see you are in Florida, so you have plenty of time to ride once the foot heals. Speedy recovery!
When I was in college I broke my lower leg in 5 places. Had some pins and a cast up to my knee. I had a Kawasaki GPZ 550 at the time. Strapped my crutches over my shoulder like a bow and arrow, took the left foot peg off and shifted using the cast. Rested my foot on the engine guard while riding. Rode to class every day. MAN! the dumb things you do when young.
Hey thanks for the words of encouragement! The Bike shop said they will ride it over when it is done. When I dropped it off, I went by the shop in my car and had one of their guys ride with me home and he drove the bike back to the shop. They said they will ride it over and I can drive them back in the car. I will let you know how it turns out.
