[sm=imsorry.gif]i should have listened. i found the right plug and everything works great! anyone know what the plug is that i was messing with the first time? it had a black, green/brown and grey wire??????
Well according to the wiring diagram and location.(using 06 Service manualelectrical diagrams)
If it was the other blank plug(not plugged into anything), located just under the exterior painted cover, it is your data link, and the wire colors are black, lightgreen, violet and are in a deutsch four place plug.
[8D]Does anyone know if this will work on the 07's? Thanks.

Well a quick look at the MoCo's Site shows them calling out the same smart siren and smart siren II for the 07 model year, they did for the 06's.
So my guess would be, yes it should work.
Devious, do it man, this little sucker is pretty loud for it's size. i paid 11 bucks. can't beat it. i put some sealer around all of the connections to keep them dry. used shrink wrap on the wires to keep it nice. there was a little room beside the plastic backing of the ecm where it fit nicely. i used a self tapping screw to secure the siren to the steel backing that the ecm bolts to. then sealed around the screw to prevent the nasty rust bug. couldn't be happier. the siren i bought part number ends with #070. it is a two tone siren that sounds like a siren should. just don't make my mistake and find the right set of wires!
The one I bought is #273-070. I saw that some others bought the 273-079, but I don't know the difference between the two. I think mine is perfect, good sound, two tone, about the size of a -- well, it's about 2 1/2 inches round and 1 1/2 inches deep.

I just mounted mine with Velcro, cleaned the end of the "Sound Tube" in the ECM mount, and stuck it there. The sirens sound holesfit real nice in that circular cutout in the mount and it doesn't restrict the sound.
I also got a delphi "female plug" and used that to connect. makes it plug and play.
I would put up some pics, but my digicam took a dump and is in California being repaired.
hooked mine up today, easy install. It doesn't chirp when I turn it on or off, not sure if it is supposed to. When I bump the bike it chirps once and only alarms if I keep moving the bike. It does alarm if I try to turn the bike on. Thanks Rollntiger. Great tip. I never have used the alarm before this, because I thought it was useless with out sound.
