Default Am I getting old???

So I have the Rush Big Louies with modded baffles and catless headpipe on my 11 EGC. I had cut the baffles in half when I changed out my headpipe trying to find that perfect sound. After a little tweaking I found the sound I was looking for.

So this morning before I left for work I had this thought. I have the baffles modded almost to the point that "Do I even have baffles???" So before I left for work I said let me pull these baffles out and see how she sounds.

HOLY S*@# !!! they are freakin loud. I got a damn headache on my 30 minute ride to work. I could not even listen to my tunes because the competition between the pipes and the radio was making me crazy. I will be putting those baffles back in at 5:00 when I get home...

I had Samson fishtails on my 03 RKC for years and they never bothered me.

I'm right there with ya and yeah we're getting old, loud pipes don't seem to appeal to guys wanting some sound but not to the point we need earplugs...been there, done that.

I don't ride with music, but my pipes are loud, and digital hearing units help tame them down and preserve what little hearing I have left. And yeah,we are getting old!

Yep righ there with you guys! I don't mind a nice low rumble but not to the point that it is obnoxious.

I wear earplugs anyways but I do like my neighbors...especially at 4:30am!

I'm 32 and prefer the stock pipes to needing ear plugs. Then again I don't like a loud stereo or kid's on my lawn.

We are all getting older.... every day you wake up, you are older than before... but waking up is better than the alternative....

I had straight pipes on my 1980 FXS and remember loving them.... I wouldn't even consider them now though.

I've been wearing ear plugs while riding since before you were born - to protect my hearing, so I don't need hearing aids now I've got older. We all should wear them for that reason, especially if you like genuine hi-fi music.

There was a big push back in the 70s to protect hearing in the work place and other noisy places. We riders can easily exceed 115dB while riding, which will quickly damage hearing, but that seems to have got lost and forgotten somewhere.
