Motorcycle Armor lid protectors. If you install them properly, you won't even know they are there. No bubbles, no wrinkles, no cursing out the OL (under my breath)
I installed a kit that included just the tops, which is all you really need IMHO. The cost was $50.00. I would recommend looking at the YouTube videos to learn how to install them. Also make sure you have plenty of light and clean your glasses real good. I had to redo one of them because there were some small bubbles that I didn’t see until it was too late.
I bought the kit from a former forum member that was banned (unrelated to his products) several years ago and I don’t remember his or his company name.
There are a few companies that sell the kits - try Google.
What ya'all want is some 3M Clear protective tape. Comes in various widths and is available at nearly all detail shops and the internet.
And it won't cost you $80 (or even $50.....sheesh!). I think the last piece I bought cost me about 20 bucks (6" wide, 8' long) and would probably make enough saddle bag protectors for 6-8 bikes.
Make yourself a pattern, cut 'em out and put 'em on using a spray bottle (with some soapy water) and a squeegy. Use the squeegy to push the water and bubbles out from underneath the tape and you got yourself some down-right professional looking lid protectors.
