Mine is especially odd because I returned the original 4pt dock because I thought there was an issue with it when it did not fit. They gave me a different set and its the same way, one side fits perfect and one does not. Maybe my bike is bent.
I have the 4 point docking with backrest/cargo rack. Both were such terrible fit that I could get neither in. Buddy of mine started grinding and bending and still had no luck. I needed both in for a long trip and so, we wound up with a mallet. Had to use a mallet to take them off too.
When I 1st asked here, was told mine maybe knock offs from China. I just did not buy that. No offense, but I am glad I am not the only one. I guess we can just chock it down to HD QC at large again. You'd think they would take these items from the line and test them...
When I had my 2 point dock my passenger backrest was very tight and hard to lock in place. After I installed my 4 point dock the backrest locks with ease.
replace the 2 metal sleeves on the forward dock point with 4 nylon bushing spacers (two on each side) from lowes or home depot. works perfect over 2800 miles using them and not shake rattle and roll. all fits to perfection. forgot the size but you can bring the metal spacer and place two nylon bushings togethor to size up but go about an 1/8 inch smaller.

Not sure if this would work for my issue because my tour pack mounts on the front metal sleeves. It's the back that I am having the mounting issues with.
