Can Monster Rounds be made Louder?
Has anyone done this already?
Also, if yours are new, give them about 1,000 miles then see if you still want to change. I got mine used, but the guy said he only had 300 miles on them. His complaint was they weren't loud enough also.
Since getting them, they have gotten louder. So much so that I am kind of disappointed in them. I really wanted the rumble, but not the loudness. Now I have both. Still not as loud as wide open pipes, but quite a bit louder than when I first got them.
Yes they are louder that way.
Check the threads as I posted about monster rounds.
Basically undo the two Allen screws on the bottom side of the end caps
The end caps have those grooved semi circle notches in the, which I stuck an Allen wrench in the slot so that the Allen was locked in going across the baffle end cap.
I have chronic tendinitis in my elbows, so I can't grip well to turn the end caps back and forth clockwise/counter clockwise to get 'em loosened up.
I used a crescent wrench on the Allen stuck crossways in the end cap to get some leverage to bust it loose.
Once I had it loosened some, I fired up the bike and revved it up a bit so the exhaust pulses would help push it out.
When I was able to extract the baffle an inch or so, I used tapped with a hammer on a small wood dowel to on the backside of the end cap ring, to drive it out while also using hands to twist it out as well and some engine revs again.
It took me all of 30 minutes to get both cores extracted, and reinstalled.
Note: tap gentlely. I posted some pictures on YouTube if you type in 2011 Roadking classic

Hope this helps.
