I just ordered this last night. Its been killing me not to have drinking water close at hand while riding.
I dont have one of these, but thought I'd post it.

I just ordered a locking door set for my lowers from Hardbagger.com. They come with a third (left) door with a cup holder, insulated bottle, etc.
Havent gotten them yet, but will post when I do. Scroll down to "Whole HogPackage".

Doesnt look like you have hard lowers, but thought I'd post for the benefit of others that do.

I have the MAGnificent drink holder. IMHO it gets in the way of the bars when turning, unless you have it almost in your crotch. It does hold to the tank as advertised though.
It spends its life hanging on the side of an old metal wall locker now. Just another experiment gone bad.
I have a small cooler with freezable sides and then i put a blue frozen pack in it...it holds 5 water bottles or about 8 cans... it's called the "Fridge to go" i think...it's similar to the one in the picture but red...i keep it in the tourpak.
Or unless you have 14" apes, in which case I'd guess it wouldn't be a problem.
I live in the desert, so not only is our riding warmer than most, it is always drier than most- today will be 105º with Humidity about 35%- this is our monsoon season and the wettest time of the year.
1.) cold fluids shrink the capillaries in the stomach and fluids are not ingested as well, so it is possible to drink lots of cold stuff- and be dehydrated
2.) peeing- if you are not peeing, you are dehydrated- stop what you are doing and get fluids
3.) dehydration causes loss of balance and confusion/ poor decision making ( bad on a bike) pedialyte is a perfect solution for low electrolytes ( better than a gatorade type sugary drink)
4.) cover up- moisture is wicked from exposed skin by dry air - the H-D 3 in 1 nylon jacket I got a couple of years ago is the best riding gear I've ever had. the leathers look cool for hanging out, but the 3n1 is perfect, hot/cold, wet/dry.
Some jackets will now take "cold packs" in place of the armour.
cool snake neck wraps are also good for this
if you wear a helmet, get one with vents ( remember the Volvo study showing a drop in reaction tine when the brain temp increases)
5.) I try to drink a litre an hour while riding.
6.) Don't be cheep- buy gas, buy water...a cold bottle of water inside the jacket can be nice for comfort-
what do i do ?
I do freeze about 4 bottles of water before a ride--- I'll wrap a couple to insulate and throw in a saddlebag.
I have saddlebag guard bags that hold a big insulated coffee cup and 2 or 3 waters- that gets me to the first gas stop, where the empty bottles are refilled or replaced- save the sport top that is easy to drink from with out fumbling.
Be smart
if you find yourself making stupid mistakes such as missing turns, forgetting directions etc. you may want to take a break
emergency treatment for dehydration /heat stroke etc. is 911.
get shade, get cool ( cool liquids poured over body), get outer clothing off.
feet above head helps blood flow through brain
like the oil removes heat from the motor internals, blood flow removes heat from inside the brain
