Hey everybody,
Just got back from a weekend trip to Los Angeles, about 600 miles roundtrip. On the way home I noticed a fluttering sound from my engine. Almost like how a paper sounds fluttering in the wind. I was cruising at 70mph and when I gave it some throttle, it would make the paper flutter sound. It did not effect performance whatsoever as I still hurled down the road ranging from 70-80mph comfortably. I couldn't pinpoint the actual area it was coming from, at first I thought it was from the air filter but it sounded more like from the front of the bike.
Here's the specifics.
2007 EGC other than adding lower fairings bone stock.
Riding two up with some luggage.
It was in the upper 90's and the engine was real hot.
Checked my mileage and was still averaging 38+ mpg.
Any information, questions or feedback would be appreciated. Thanks again!
Hi,I have the exact same problem! Same scenario. When I am at cruising speed and roll on the throttle firmly, I hear the same fluttering noise. I would love to know what it is. Anybody, please advise.
Thanks alot. Question, could the same thing happen when I roll off the throttle from high speed? Also, if I get a better breather will it help with the sound?
