lower fairings snap covers

lower fairings snap covers
One of my lower fairing leather door covers, (You know the ones with the four snaps) has a whitish haze over it. Do any of you have a good suggestion for how to clean it back up so it's black? I also noticed a couple of my switches, (cruise and accessory) are starting to do the same thing. The drivers intercom plug cap did the same thing. I just replaced that, because it got so brittle it broke. I only use Mothers auto car soap when I was my bike. I use a Mothers quick detail in between washes just to keep it clean...

Its cheap enough to replace the snap flap for a magnetic one, simple install and I believe they run less than $50. Work great and look like stock but open much easier if you need to grab something like chap stick or gloves while riding. Just a thought.
