Anyone been thru this with them?
Has anyone ordered their hidden controls full package including bars?

I am having one hell of a time corresponding with Jeff over there about my order.
I havent placed it yet as we cant seem to get on the same page for whatever reason.

I also need a few more weeks to put together the cash as these arent cheap but I definitely want them.

The short story is I want to use Br custom bars, HHI uses brcustom bars made to spec for them and they show them on their page.
For my RK they offer three sets.

Two types of apes and a cafe beach bar.
The beach bar is a cafe style with little pullback, less of a beach bar and more of a cafe racer bar.

I am trying to ask them if I can send my specs for pullback and have them made to order rather than what they have on their page.

Unless I got it wrong I am told no I have to go with the three they offer or nothing at all.
does that make any sense?

What if those bars dont fit you as a rider? are you just out of luck, cant have their controls?

I cant believe that can be true considering not everyone is going to want those bars and everyone has different needs based on their size and stuff.

At first Jeff from HHI was awesome in getting back to me with an answer, then I asked another question, lol that was it, I havent heard from them in several days and I have no idea of whether or not I was mistaken and they will order to fit or not.

I talked to Br customs and explained I dont understand whether or not hhi will install their controls on another set of bars from brcustoms or not so will br just do it for me.

They got right back to me and said yes, for a fee, if I get everything needed for the install, I can have them install them for me on basically any bar they make that these controls are able to be mounted on.

I am still waiting to hear back from Jeff though in case I was mistaken about his response to me the other day.

I am thinking maybe he meant I can pick those cafe bars and then send my specs for pullback and they will order them that way?

I just cant tell, lol and I am not shelling out 2500$ until I have a perfectly clear picture of what I am getting and that it will be what I want.

I feel like I am bugging Jeff at this point and maybe he is getting annoyed, lol I just want a few simple answers and then order, and the whole process is killing me, lol.

I cant understand why they would have a problem with putting their controls on a different set of bars than the exact ones on their site, I mean from cafe beach bars to regular beach bars there isnt a heck of a lot of difference from an installation point of view.

and to offer only three bars arent they limiting themselves to a smaller market then if they offered them on any bars that will accept the install?

I figure I must have misunderstood Jeff but I cant get him to clarify or get back to me.
I assume he is very busy and I even told him no rush, but if you could get back to me so we can figure this out that would be great, I need to order relatively soon as there is an 8 week lead time.

For $200 to $400 if I have everything needed BR customs will do it though, now I just have to find out if HHI will sell me the entire kit and all the hardware necessary to install their controls on bars or not, so I can buy them and ship them to Br customs for the install on a set of bars, then to me.
To me in the end they are plug and play after I take off my bars and controls and stuff.

So anyone else bought these from them that can offer any insight?

Well as my luck would have it, 5 minutes after I posted this looking for answers, Jeff from HHI sends me an email, lol.

Figures right?

Anyway got my answer, it is what I was hoping to hear, they will install their controls on whatever bars I buy from BR Customs, !!

WOOT !

It is a happy day!

I am stoked, I can check that off my list and just move on, whew.

So I hope if nothing else this post will answer this question for anyone else wondering the same thing.

I cant see $2500 for bars

 

Damn, i know! When i first got my rg i looked at the hhi. I wanted them even before i bought my bike. Then i went thru the little check list on the website and came out with a quote of approx $2300! WTF?! Never went back to that website. I didnt know until reading this post that br made bars for them. Coincidence, I ended up buying bars from br last year and love them. Many many compliments and im pretty sure i only spent between $3-400.

 

Wow that much? well its up to how much your willing to spend....It's only $ right and life is short....enjoy em and let us see what they look like when its all finished.

 

I have not ordered them, but my buddy had a custom set of 22" ordered last year with all internals. They are gorgeous, but they took FOREVER. We ordered them at Bike Week (first week of March) and he got them in just time for Biketoberfest last year. It was about 6 months. They are not the greatest with customer service, but the quality of the bars is excellent.

 

Yeah when you add up all the parts you need it is around 2500$ whihc seems insane for bars
But, lol I love the fact that I can have all my current controls plus an extra function for future use if I add something.

So 5 or 6 buttons on either side, all stock functions plus cruise audio and one for expansion.

and the cables to run the master cylinder to the caliper, everything 100% hidden in the bars, no throttle or clutch cables etc.. nothing , just clean as a whistle and I just love that look.

So you get the bars, all the cables, harness connectors so it is all plug and play, all your functions, grips, etc. for $2500.

Still expensive but I can only find two companies even offering it and one says they are not offering them for 6 months while they re-tool their design.

So this was the only way I could see to get it done.
They said 6 to 8 week lead time, so before I order I will verify that and ask them about any delays that might come.
I guess it has to do with how long it takes BR to make the bars too.

I want to order in Jan and get them in by March so in the spring all my parts are in.

I know it is expensive but I figured somebody on here might have had it done with some pics.
