Default Need a power source

Ok I bought this direct line power cable,
http://www.tss-radio.com/products/si...r-hardwire-kit.

I thought it would wire from the battery, it does not I need to tap into switched aux power any suggestions that's not in the front fairing? I have the aux port in the tour pack as well.

09 ultra

There's usually a plug under the seat, although I don't if that is tapped in to for the tour pack power (I don't have a tour pack).

I believe there is a connector under the seat that is controlled by the aux switch in the fairing.

Sorry, my suggestion is in the front fairing (cig lighter). 7 torx screws and the fairing's off.

The aux plug from the tour pack uses the one under the seat, I'm going today and see if there is a T-connector available for it. I. Trying to stay out of the fairing because I already have a couple thing running from there and want to keep wire clutter down.

I have the tour pak, and there is an open ended connector under the seat which is ran by the Aux switch , and allowed me to put an aux port in my right side cover for powering my phone. This is on my Classic and the Ultra's may make use of this allready, as you have said.

Apparently Harley makes a three way plug for connecting multiple accessories to the aux plug under the seat now I just need to figure out how to wire into it.

If indeed they do it is probably as you mentioned earlier, just a "T" to splice into existing connection, and add an open receptacle.

In regards to the acc plug under the seat, that your tourpak power port is most likely plugged into, HD does sell a splitter for it to plug more than one accessory. There are 4 wires on the accessory plug. Depending on the accessory plugged into it, it will be either On with ignition, on with Brake switch or On with ACC switch.

If I remember correctly (check your service manual) Orange/Red wire (controlled bt the ingnition switch)in position #1 - a Red/yellow wire (controlled by the brake relay) in position #2 - an Orange wire (controled by the accessory switch) in position #3 and a Black wire (ground) in the 4th position.

on my '99 I had auxiliary rear lighting that was on with ignition switch and the brake light portion triggered by brake relay, ACC switch did nothing. I also have the 12v power port in tourpak on my '08, controlled by ignition switch, not ACC switch. Both are plugged into the acc port under seat.

If you use the splitter from HD to plug in 2 accessories, one can be controlled by ignition and one by acc switch OR both controlled by ignition OR both by ACC switch. Depending on the accessory and how each plug is wired.
