When ya factor in labor & EFI tuning device that's gonna chew up more then 1/2 of yr $2K. That will kinda force you to stick with the old style chain cams.
Ok this is what I would look into / propose:
A bolt in cam, I like the SE204 or any cam that has intake valve closing at about 34ish close with yr stock heads use the 30 gaskets, reuse yr OEM push rods save some $ and get yr jugs bored for a flat top piston, I would go to 98" with it. Make sure the deck ends up at zero.
Remember your gonna need some cash left for tuning it...you do have a competent tuner dyno operator to use or are you planning to tune it yrself?

All this work is beyond my capiablies,, but I do have a good bike machanic to do the work. As for tuneing, I will have to check into that part. But thanks for all the info guys. Good stuff.
