Default suspension question

Hey guys,
new to the touring bikes and just moved from my fatboy lo to a 2012 street glide. I was wondering if there is an air ride suspension for the touring bikes like the Shotgun Shocks for the softails. Was wanting one that not only is ride heigth adjustable but also has the ability to adjust the rebound like the stock set-up.
Thanks

I have Shotgun shocks on my 09 ultra. Great shock, a little bulkier than the factory shocks, had to space out the bags a bit to fit the shocks.

Really like the adjustability of the shocks.

Check the Harley catalog, they have replacement shocks, non-air for the rear of touring bikes with adjustable dampening. If I remember correctly one shock dampens durig compression and the other during extension

Premium Ride Hand-Adjustable Rear Shocks

Experience the ultimate in ride quality with these Premium Touring Shocks. These shocks utilize a single tube, nitrogen charged emulsion design. The design offers enhanced compression and rebound damping compared to the Original Equipment-style air adjustable shocks. This provides a controlled yet plush ride with less bottoming. The compression and rebound damping is split between the two shocks - compression on the right and rebound on the left. This design balances the load of each shock; stiff spring with rebound damping on the left and soft spring with compression damping on the right. Larger chambers (40mm diameter pistons & 14mm rods) allow these shocks to react more quickly to impacts. This keeps the tires tracking while minimizing harshness transmitted through the frame. A simple **** behind the left saddlebag allows the rider to conveniently modify the spring preload via a hydraulic adjuster. Available in Standard Ride Height and Low Ride Height versions.

This product is available in multiple variations. Be sure to look for the one that fits the specific model and year of your motorcycle.

A lot of options out there for air systems here are a few

1. http://www.legendsuspensions.com/Pro...8&VIEW=Product
2.http://www.progressivesuspension.com...ger/index.html
3. http://www.arnottairsuspension.com/h...suspension.asp

IMO more people change to a quality gas / hyd shock to improve the handling instead of a air system thats more for ride height

Best choices for improved handling and ride
1. Ohlins
2. Terry Cable
3. Works
4. Progressive 940 or 944 (Im running them , great shock for the $ IMO)

thanks for the tips guys. Yes, I am looking for improved handleing definatly but was also wanting to lower the bike a little bit so I am flat footed all the time due to the fact that I only have a 30-32" inseam.

If you would like your Bagger to have the feel of a Softail (sitting in the bike as opposed to sitting on top of it). I would suggest looking at the "drop seat kits". This way you can play with the suspension without loosing travel. I ran the legend air ride because I had problems parking the bike on a grade. I installed the drop seat kit and sold the Legends and bought a pair of Ricor shocks set up for my weight and riding style. The draw back to the drop seat kit is you are limited to what seats will fit. For example, I did not like the seat that came with the kit and ended up having a custom Corbin seat made at their factory.
