Default Ready to go Ape

I have been looking at apes for awhile. I am ready to pull the trigger but would appreciate any input. I have a 2002 RKC . I am looking at 16" HHI hell raisers or Carlini's. The HHI is my favorite by far with everything hidden but if I have them installed it is around $2800. With the Carlini's the throttle, brake and clutch will be exposed but depending on which switch housings, cables and grips I go with I can save around $1500. Any remarks regarding the HHI bars or what chrome switches or stainless cables to use would be appreciated. I don't mind spending the money for quality but, with the Carlini's I can save some cabbage for other stuff.
Thanks,
Mike

I went with 16" Carlini Gangsters. I installed chrome switch housings when I put my beach bars on a couple of years ago, so I didn't have to deal with it this time. I bought 12" electrical extensions and 8+ Magnum clutch cable, throttle cables, and front brake setup. I saved dough by not buying a "kit" and by doing it myself. I dig the way it came out AND I can still run my shield on cold mornings!

So how do you like the apes compared to the beach bars? I don't want to be reaching too wide when my arms are higher. Also how are the wrist angle? I am still stock.
Thanks for the input,
Mike

So how do you like them? I am a little worried about the width.
THanks for the input,
Mike

The width isn't a big deal at all. I thought it would be, but not really. I'm aggressive in turns, and the bike turns even easier now. It's like I added power steering to my bike. It's very comfortable.
