Well I ordered the mount from Jason and the Minibeast, going with the XR series mesh in black, found them on Amazon for $170 with free shipping, that's the best price I've seen. Hopefully by the first week of the new year I'll have everything and will take pics and post results.

I recieved the mount from Jason right after Christmas, and just recieved my horns Wednesday. Today is the first day I've had a chance to look at anything. Mike M thanks for all the pics, but for some reason Mr. Murphy must be taking a break, I took a pair of channel locks and was able to remove the stock horn rubber mount in about two minutes. The only issue I'm having with mounting the mini beast is that one of the bolts in the mini beast mount is high and is touching the fans causing them not to mount flush. My solution to this so far is to mount the fans, and secure them, then take a washer and put over that nut, and mount the horns against the washer, that way the install is flush. It will stick out an extra 1/4 of an inch, but I am able to also use the acorn nut and feel much better about the installation.

It seems to be working well so far, I would've never been able to mount the horns with the OEM rubber mount. My bike will probably be apart for the rest of the week for other misc mods, when I get it all back together I'll let you know all the details, thanks.

From the pics, I cant make out the bolts that are hitting. If you have it apart again sometime can you take a pic of the backside of the horn and point them out for me. I'll probably have to buy one of the XRs so I can fiddle with it on the bench. I would really like to get that install cleaned up a little bit for you. I'm assuming you had a little clearance between the fans, which was one of the main concerns. I will re-engage it to find a better solution for that version of the MB. Thanks for testing it out.

In the pics I'm sending it's the first bolt below the hole that hits. If the mounting bracket were a little thicker I would put a countersunk bolt there, I still may try just to see how it works.

Thanks, I can see that pretty clearly. I think a countersink bolt is probably a very good solution. Is there a welded nut on the back or are the threads in the bracket material. If there is a nut, or room for a nut on the back, the countersink can go through the top bracket and partially into the botom bracket in order to get the head flush.

The bracket is threaded, but there is plenty room for a nut, I may do it that way. Right now I have so many other things going on until it'll probably be awhile before I get to it.
