I generally take mine out since I got new ones that hang on the ear and have the tube. Afraid they might blow off going down the road. Also I try to remember to put plugs in (had I done this when shooting artillery I might not have a need for the aids now).

I usually take mine out and put them in the box and that goes in my cap along with my cell phone. Most of the time I remember to get them but if I forget the SO will remind me. All I have to do is say what or huh 1 time and that look is all I need.

I don't use my hearing aids when I ride and they are in my pocket. In fact the opposite is true. When I ride I wear ear plugs so I can keep what hearing I have left.
You can get good ear plugs for motorcycle riders at:

I agree. Since hearing aids amp the sound no need to make the noise louder that can further damage my hearing. I have a soft bag that I put mine in when I ride.

I have behind-the-ear aids, and I can't get my helmet on without knocking them off. So, I either leave them at home or put them in a case carried in the tourpak.

I tried to wear them once, but the feedback was way too much for me when I tried to put my helmet on.

I wear hearing aids that work well. However, I can't hear very well at all on the bike. Even put HDBoom speakers front and rear on my 2011 EGC. Still couldn't hear well, hearing aids in or out. Spent a lot of money for nothing. Now have a 2012 Road King and make my own music-in my head.

I am an Audiologist and although I am now retired I have fitted many patients with hearing aids. I haven't read all of the above responses to follow the gist of this thread but in response to the original poster I would not recommend wearing the aids in the on position while riding. The amplified wind and motor noise may cause more damage to your hearing. When I ride I have ear plugs that were made from a mold of my ear. They keep the damaging decibel levels out while still being able to hear my surroundings. If I remember correctly, mine knock the decibel level down about 20db.
What you may want to try is to turn your aids to the off position and wear them while riding. They may act similar to molded ear plugs and keep the wind and motor noise down to a manageable level.

I have one hearing aid. The other ear is near total deaf. I ride and Ultra so with an adapter I use behind the neck ear phones with a half helmet. This way I have some hearing protection as well as keeping my ears warm in cold weather.
