Question Flush mount front Axle

I'm getting ready to swap out my stock 09 SG front fender for a wrapper to go with my 21" front wheel and was planning on installing a flush mount front axle. From what I've been checking out I was thinking of going with the FBI flush mount front axle. The only other issue I've read about was removing the cap from the left fork tube. How to resolve this was to use plenty of anti-seize when you install it. Does this sound right or is there anything else I should be concerned with or a different MFG flush mount front axle I should go with. BTW I want to go with a black flush mount front axle. Thanks!

So I have the FBI fork end cap but I need to reomove the threaded studs from the end of the fork leg. What is the best method for removing the threaded studs. Thanks!

I went with Hogpro. Forum sponser......Very easy to remove the captive nut. You install using a screw and nut to pull it in. To remove thread the screw in and tap it with a hammer. Use some PB blaster. It's a little easier if you remove the leg.

Ebay has these for like 89 bucks with free shipping if you look around.
I've been using them for years without any problems.

You'd only really need to remove the left side captive nut if you're going to disassemble the fork leg. It blocks the 6mm bolt under there...

So... I had to do this once and I just used a two arm press screw thing. Guess it was a ball joint remover tool or something. Easy, took nothing really.

Just to add to this...if you do have to remove to get to the 6mm the captive nut doesn't need to be completely removed only about 3/4 of the way.

Also if you use the two arm press, I believe it's called a gear puller. Just be very careful. I messed up the chrome on one of my legs using one.
