Default Do you ever feel like

The bike you bought is a piece of junk? I have a 2011 RK with 12K miles that all of a sudden is burning oil. It also seems like the transmission is extremely clunky and the amount of metal on the primary drain plug seemed excessive at the last oil change. Even the air shocks seem to bleed down fast.

While the bike is still under warranty and I have an extended warranty we all know how the MoCo is about warranty work.

I just cant seem to enjoy the bike at the moment.

The bike has V and H true dual, Tmax tuner, scream'n eagle heavy breather, scream'n eagle slip on's

This was supposed to be a bike I kept for a very long time but know I am not that sure.

Sorry to hear about your disappointment, but even if you're reluctant to take bike in for warranty work - do it! For the oil burning portion alone...they need to tear-in and see what's "cook'n."

Took it to the dealer they marked the dip stick and I drove it for 600 miles and they rechecked they did not make sure it was parked in teh same spot and the tech said it did not loose hardly anything. When I got it home and checked where I always do it was down about 4-5oz from where it was when I took it to them.

The MoCo says a quart in 1000 miles is fine. That is BS in my opinion.

Not sure how to proceed. I have a trip to the Dragon in a week and I do not want to have to carry oil and a funnel with me.

You've got the warranty - use it. We're getting into the down season so it'll be perfect timing.
I have a feeling once you get through these issues it'll be all you expected.
I've been where you're at. Fought through it, or rather fixed through it, and after 50k miles I'm still happy.

no no smoking that I can tell. You would think with that amount it would be. I have no clue where it is going.

I don't accept that a quart per thousand is acceptable. I'm sure some more wrench-inclined folks will chime in on this with more accurate info. Anyway, as was suggested fight through it! You have a warranty, you spent good, hard-earned money on the bike, so the MOCO needs to make it right! In the end, once its all said and done, and working like it should, you'll be a happy puppy.

It seems that American manufacturing has become a game of percentages. If 99% of their product works OK for the consumer, they'll try to save a few more bucks until the percentage drops to 98%. I'm referring to no more Timken lefty bearings, cast cranks in 07, single row wheel bearings and the suddenly undependable '12 voltage regulators of this past year. All of it has to do with cheapening the product.

Whatever cheap component malfunctioned, I would certainly use the warranty to it's full benefit.

( In the meantime, I'll keep my hand built 2000 S/E Road Glide.)

I don't accept the 1000 miles per quart either but that is what the service manager said is the MoCo stance.

To me if it is using oil there is an issue. It never seemed to use oil until about mile 9500. I am very easy on the bike I ride it like I want it to last not like I stole it.

Where'd you get the bike? Do you have any idea of its past?
